PelviCenter

A magnetic stimulation chair for the pelvic floor. You stay seated and fully clothed, with no probe.

The PelviCenter® is a magnetic stimulation chair for the pelvic floor. A magnetic field passes through the seat and contracts the deep muscles of the perineum, the ones that are hard to reach on your own. You stay seated and fully clothed throughout. There is no probe and no direct contact.

The practice uses it as part of pelvic floor rehabilitation. It complements the physiotherapist's work rather than replacing it.

Fee and reimbursement

Sessions are billed at the CNS rate, with no extra fee. They are covered with a physiotherapy prescription, to be requested from your doctor.

How a session works

Nothing is left to the patient to figure out. The sequence is the same every time.

  • The physiotherapist carries out an assessment: they review your situation and check that nothing rules the technique out.
  • You sit down fully clothed. No probe.
  • The pulses make the muscles work. You feel the contractions, without pain and without any effort on your part.
  • The number and pace of sessions are set with you, then adjusted as the follow-up goes on.

When it is used

The reasons are the same as for pelvic floor rehabilitation. They concern women and men alike.

  • Urine leaks on exertion, when coughing or laughing
  • Urgent and overly frequent needs to go
  • After childbirth, once the postnatal assessment has been done
  • After prostate surgery
  • A feeling of heaviness in the lower abdomen
  • Rectal incontinence
  • Erection problems
  • Improving the quality of one's sex life

When it is not possible

Some situations rule the technique out completely, and that is exactly what the initial assessment checks for.

  • People with a pacemaker
  • People with a metal implant
  • Ongoing pregnancy

The magnetic field erases data carriers. Bank cards, phones and car keys stay outside the room during the session.

What the session does not replace

The chair replaces neither the assessment nor the work with the physiotherapist. It fits into a course of care, it does not make one up on its own. No result can be guaranteed in advance: it depends on your situation, and the assessment is what allows us to discuss it.

Not sure this applies to you?

The initial assessment helps determine whether this treatment is suitable for you. The treatment is carried out on your doctor's prescription.
